 Designing Resistance Training Programs

The books Steven Fleck and William Kraemer write are always winners. I think that is because they write to an audience of strength coaches, personal trainers, health and fitness instructors and the like. An audience of people who do not have to be walked through the information, they present it and it's never too wordy.

In this updated, revised and expanded edition the authors explore how to use scientific knowledge to develop programs that are personalized. After reading this text you will have the ability design programs that are sound, modify and adapt programs to meet the needs of special populations, and understand how exercise prescription design works in the real world. Sometimes that last statement gets lost on people. I've met many people who are in the fitness field but sometimes lack the vision to apply what they have learned to real world situations.

This edition includes three new chapters dedicated to resistance training issues and concerns for children, women and seniors, including how to modify and adapt such programs to address the special needs and concerns of each group. The book also includes updated summaries also suggested readings of other books and journal articles for more in-depth knowledge on the subject. Case studies with examples of exercise prescription design in real life situations.

The book contains 11 chapters of knowledge that will help anyone who is in the business or looking to get into the business of working with individuals who are working to get as fit as they possible can. This book is must have if you don't have it already.
