First testing for tennis with BCTA

The game of tennis is more than hitting a ball back and forth over a net, it’s a game that is dictated by an athlete’s ability to get to the ball in enough time to hit a quality reply to a ball hit. So what we did is to utilize testing modalities that will help quantify how quickly a tennis athlete can move around the court.

For our first testing day we used 3 movement patterns that when timed will give us an idea as to how fit our players are and the ability to change directions effectively. There are several tests we could’ve used but I thought they 3 we did use would be sufficient.

As we go forward we will definitely work to expand our testing protocols and create a data base so that every athlete who comes through our program will be able to see just how they stack up with other tennis players in the region.

The test results of our first testing for tennis with the Burlington County Tennis Association.
